Event Reminders

If you missed my email earlier (or just love reminders) here are things I highly suggest you do before the event.

1. Pick a Love Song! We will be doing an activity where each of you will need to have a favorite or meaningful love song in mind. So, be sure to pick yours, and have your partner pick theirs.

2. Make sure you have a journal, notebook, paper, or a device to record notes on. You will be doing a few thinking and talking activities, and having plenty of paper or plenty of electronic space on your phone/iPad/computer will be so helpful. Each person should have their own thing to write on, as you will be responding to questions individually and then sharing your answers with each other.

3. Set the Scene!
How do you want this Date Night to feel? Exactly where will you have it in your home? How can you set the mood to represent the experience you want to have as a couple? Romantic, comfortable, neat and tidy? You get to create that! I'll have lots of candles and flowers (I'm a total romantic!) Plan for whatever you want now.

4. Decide what you will wear. This is a DATE. So, show up as you would if you were going to one of your favorite places as a couple. Dress in something that elevates this experience for you. Let your partner know to think about this too!

5. Decide what you will eat together. Find something AMAZING to eat. Make it something you will look forward to. You can make your meal as special as you would like. You can cook or order out. You will be able to eat DURING the event if you'd like.

6. Get a babysitter. If you have small kids, consider getting a babysitter to keep them occupied. Someone can come in, or you can have your children go to a trusted adult. This is YOUR time as a couple. I know it can be hard arranging logistics, or asking for help in this way, but also consider how wonderful it will be for you to have this time alone together. And if you can't get a human babysitter - iPads and TV are wonderful to occupy little ones as a last resort.

Pre-Event Videos

The following videos are designed to introduce you to key principles for improving communication and creating a stronger connection in your marriage.

It's recommended that you watch each video together, and then spend 5-10 minutes discussing your takeaways.

This foundational information will help you get even more out of our time together during the Virtual Event.
